Right on time this month! =)
February flew by just like all the other months and here I am again trying to remember what we did! We celebrated Trevor's birthday with flourless chocolate tortes and a tattoo. He's been wanting one forever and finally bit the bullet with a great tattoo artist.
Corinne decided not to go to the Father/Daughter this dance this year, so Ayla got Trevor all to herself and loved it! They tore up the dance floor the whole time and ended the evening with gelato. Ayla looked beautiful, of course and Corinne, Sophie and I were comfortable at home reading in our pjs!
We started February school vacation skiing at Saddleback with Amy, Brian and Theona. We had fun staying in a hotel with them Friday night and on the slopes Saturday. Sophie and I stayed content in the lodge and playing outside in the snow without skis. Corinne and Ayla continue to amaze us at how well they're doing. They absolutely love skiing and are hoping to go a few more times this year.
Ayla, Sophie and I had a great time at Ava's gymnastics birthday party. They're both looking forward to starting gymnastics in April. They "play" gymnastics in the living room all the time and Ayla almost has her headstand perfected. Sophie is improving her somersault skills. She showed Trevor and I how she does one the other day and Trevor said, "Sophie, that was great!" She replied, "Dad, I didn't even do it, I just fell over. I'll do it again for you the real way!" She's too funny.
Here are just some of the hysterical antics Sophie has said based around her pretending to be pregnant with me:
Mommy, don't lean on my belly. I have a baby in there.
Don't look at me right now I'm breast milking my baby.
Look at how big my belly is getting because there's a baby in it.
Feel my baby. (She pushes it out once your hand is there.) Did you feel that kick?!
She is forever asking me about helping with the baby- feeding, bathing, playing, etc. Her enthusiasm is hysterical and heartwarming. She's so excited to be staying home with me for five months to help.
Corinne started martial arts last week and is loving it! She'll be going twice a week and is looking forward to learning more.
I just picked up a trunk full of Girl Scout cookies so Ayla will be very busy the next week or so delivering them all! Her troop leader told me that Thin Mints outsold Oreo Cookie sales nationwide!!
The girls and I had a blast at my baby shower last weekend at my mom's house. My mom and sister hosted the party and had a book theme instead of giving cards. I loved reading all the heartfelt messages written in them. The handmade outfits and blankets will always be cherished. All of the gifts were overwhelming and definitely made this whole baby thing seem more real!!
Trevor has been busy all day painting the baby's room and putting together all of the furniture. I've started the first of four wash cycles for the cloth diapers. I've written my list of what to put into the hospital bag, but have yet to pack it. It's crazy to think I could have this baby any time. My plan is be pregnant another 4-5 weeks, but we'll see!!!
