Happy New Year! It's only been two months and I am WAY behind in my posts. I'll recap January and February and be ready April 1st for a March update!
We rang in the new year with the Benn's at Oatmeal in a Bowl (the name of their camp at Sugarloaf). The kids loved hanging out in the hot tub and we all had a great time tubing and sledding the next day.
This winter was all about skiing! We went to Mt. Abram twice, Black Mountain once and Sugarloaf once. Lincoln is already bombing down the mountain with no harness and definitely no fear. He's very comfortable on skis and is already trying to do "jumps". This was Sophie's first year actually skiing. She had three lessons and is doing very well. She doesn't always feel confident, but does better than she thinks she does. Corinne and Ayla are old pros now!
Ayla was in ski club at school again this year, so for five weeks she went to Shawnee Peak every Tuesday after school and enjoyed night skiing.
We've had some big snow storms that made for some epic fort building in the front yard. There have been plenty of snow days home from school to enjoy outdoors!
In March we're looking forward to Corinne's band playing at the Girls Rock concert. We're also excited to celebrate Corinne turning 15 and Lincoln turning 4. (How did that happen?!?)

October/November Update
So, I actually wrote this at the very beginning of December and when I just sat down to start writing the December update, I realized this one was still a draft!
We started October with lots of friends over. Ayla and Sophie's good friends and sisters, Anna and Aliyah from Brunswick came down to spend the day and night with us. Lincoln also had Dre over to play. Six kids (not seven, because let's be honest, Corinne isn't really one of the kids any more!) had a great time running around outside, riding scooters and bikes and terrorizing each other.
Trevor and I had a great time going out to dinner and to see Sister Sparrow and the Dirty Birds concert with new friends. They're the same band we took Corinne to see for her 13th birthday and they were just as awesome the second time around!
We've had parent teacher conferences for all the girls. Everyone is doing really well. Corinne is settling well into high school. She really likes her woodworking class and has brought home some awesome projects!
Trevor and I had a very busy adult weekend that started with 36 people, 3 buses and a brewery tour around Portland. Everyone was from our neighborhood so it was great to get to know people better. We were up bright and early the next day for a CrossFit competition in Sanford. It was a partner competition, so Trevor and I did three workouts together over the course of the day. The first workout really kicked our butts and lucky we had time to recover before the next one. We were a little disappointed with our overall finish, but had lots of fun anyway. An evening with Kris and Ben is never dull and despite our already very busy weekend, we managed to rock it all night with them! A huge thanks goes out to Grammy Robin and PopPop who kept the four kids all weekend for us! The kids had a blast!!
Corinne's band has had a few changes with it's members, so the new name is now PandaMonium. They played at the Ghoul of Rock concert the Friday night before Halloween. They did really well and are having fun playing together. Their next two gigs are at Waynflete School during an assembly and again that night at a dance.
Ayla had a great time at the school dance dressed up as a plague doctor. She went early to set up and danced all night! Corinne also went to a school dance in Yarmouth with friends from her band. I hope they both picked up on some of my great dance moves!
We loved being "booed" this year by our neighbors. We found a bag of goodies at our doorstep and a note saying we'd been "booed". The goodies included candy, Halloween socks, notepads, pencils, erasers and a few other little things. We had fun "booing" Ava and Owen, as well as neighbors on our street.
We trick or treated up and down our street and went to a haunted house a few blocks away. The kids loved dressing up and of course loved the candy!
Now that we've been back for a year, I figured it's about time we establish care with a family physician. All the kids had their well child checks and Trevor and I had physicals. We weren't surprised to find out we're all perfectly healthy!
Trevor's been spending most of the Fridays and Saturdays in November in the woods. Every night he comes home the girls and Lincoln ask him if he's "caught a deer". He hunted in Georgetown and in Levant. He saw some deer and even took one shot, but unfortunately, this wasn't the year.
We spent Thanksgiving with my mom's side of the family. It was great to see my grandmother and grandfather come down from Houlton, as well as my aunts, uncles, cousins and all their families. Our newest addition to the family, Silas, is pretty darn cute! Unfortunately, we were a few short this year due to illness. We also missed my brother and sister's families, but were glad they were all together in Pennsylvania.
Lincoln had a great time at Urban Air for Finn's birthday party. He loved jumping on the trampolines, jousting and all the tubes and slides in the kid zone.
We're gearing up for a great holiday season and happy new year!
